Finger Painting
This week we had our first foray into fingerpainting, and it was fun! We dressed the kids in daddy’s old t-shirts (which they LOVED!) and put a tarp from grammy down on the floor, and planned a bath for (immediately) afterward, and then they went to town. This was, by far, the most fun thing we have done in the arts-and-crafts genre, and it beats crayons, hands-down, for inspiring some Serious Business faces from our artists.
It feels so good to SQUISH it in your fingers!
Two-handed paint technique
She was very impressed with the colour of her hands!
Hmmm….. who should I punch now?
Once they got into it, they really got into it! And the results are really pretty.
“wiping”, ie, rubbing the paint deeper into the skin of her hands!
As we work with the kids to get them talking more, they have inadvertently picked up this mannerism from one of their developmental therapists – putting a finger in front of their chin and saying, “hmmmmmm….” when they are thinking. It is adorable, but also, pretty funny when their hands are covered in paint.
She loved it! But she does look a little like maybe she just punched the heart out of a man and ate it in front of him, still beating.
